Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't! Here is a recipe for making the classic chocolate coconut candy at home, anyway you like it! Get creative by adding different nuts or flavors (like orange or almond extract) or a sprinkle of pink salt!

3 cups shredded coconut (put aside 3 tablespoons for garnish)
1 14-oz can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups powdered sugar
3 cups chocolate chips

Combine coconut, sweetened condensed milk and powdered sugar in large bowl, and mix until combined. Pour into greased 9×13 baking pan, and freeze until firm enough to cut - about an hour. Cut into small squares. Melt chocolate chips in oven proof bowl (I'll either microwave for a few minutes, stirring every 15 seconds until smooth, or by placing the bowl over a small pot of hot water). Dip the coconut bars in chocolate, place on wax paper to cool, and sprinkle with a dash of remaining coconut, or even chopped nuts. For that picture perfect touch, purchase mini muffin wrappers at the grocery story - they are the perfect size for candies.

There's not too much to say here… there's a new beer on the block.

It sounds more like a dessert than an ale, and maybe it's an even mix of both.

Brewers at a company called Rogue teamed up with Portland's VooDoo Doughnut to create the potentially disgusting or sinfully delicious

Mariko Laugh

It's a New Year!

Here is a quick and delicious dessert recipe that wont have you breaking your resolutions. Light and sweet with a hint of melted chocolate, it will satisfy your cravings without the guilt. Keep this recipe on hand for when unexpected guests stop by: they will be impressed you whipped up a soufflé in a matter of minutes! Get creative, and try substituting the bananas with raspberries or other fruit!

Banana Chocolate Soufflé

3 large egg whites
1/3 cup sugar
2 large, ripe bananas (about 1 1/2 cup, smashed)
3 tablespoons mini chocolate chips or cocoa powder (or both)

Preheat oven to 450 degrees, and butter 6 small ramekin dishes (3/4 - 1 cup capacity or other small oven safe bowls)

Beat egg whites in medium size bowl with electric mixer until stiff (you could hold the bowl upside down and it stays in place) Slowly mix in sugar with mixer until well combined. Gently fold in smashed bananas and chocolate until blended together: don't over mix or the egg whites will deflate. Divide mixture among the ramekins and bake until puffed and golden - about 15 minutes. When you remove from the oven, run a knife around the edges to help prevent deflating. Enjoy!

QuickFit Tip Of The Day

blue

Is your craving for sweets and desserts holding back your weight loss? Cravings for dessert is actually a food addiction that affects your brain chemistry, not your taste buds. Try replacing the high calorie sweets with a square of dark (80% or higher) chocolate. It has the same affect on your brain, is low calorie, and even contains heart healthy anti-oxidants.
