An appeals court just dismissed a ruling that another appeals court upheld earlier this year.

The Supreme Court might have to step in and make a final decision in this fight against cigarettes.

The law says that cigarette companies would have to use graphic imagery in their health warnings about the dangers of cigarettes.

A judge in the appeals court said:

"This case raises novel questions about the scope of the government's authority to force the manufacturer of a product to go beyond making purely factual and accurate commercial disclosures and undermine its own economic interest — in this case, by making 'every single pack of cigarettes in the country a mini billboard' for the government's anti-smoking message."

Because smoking is more and more prevalent among the nation's youth, the FDA has recommend that graphic images of rotting teeth and tar filled lungs might help dissuade teens from smoking.

We think anything that stops tobacco companies from advertising is great.

We need to protect our youth because they're our future!
