hbo-sued-over-luck-cover-up-web.jpgHBO seems to be taking the adage "beating a dead horse" further and further.

A former employee of the American Humane Association is suing HBO for wrongful termination after she tried to expose HBO's animal welfare cover-up.

Nim Chimpsky Dies Of Heart Attack Broken Heart!

Nim Chimpsky is widely known for being raised by humans after he was taken from his mommy in 1973 at the Institute for Primate Studies in Oklahoma.

But now, to illustrate the chimpanzee's life of science experiments and learning sign language in order to communicate with others, his story is set to be told in an HBO documentary, which is based on the book, Nim Chimpsky: The Chimp Who Would Be Human by Elizabeth Hess.

Nim unfortunately passed in 2000 from a heart attack, but according to his fav caretaker, Bob Ingersoll, he said "It might actually be fair to say he died of a broken heart."

Awww!

The film won't debut until December 20, but you can the 4-1-1 on Project Nim (above)!

It seems that most people (and horses we're sure) are happy that HBO's series Luck has been canceled.

Though there are those that mourn the shows loss… mainly the cast and crew.

So the director, Michael Mann, executive producer David Milch and Dustin Hoffman are having a "wake" for the show at

HBO Cancels Luck After Third Horse Death

horse-doing-stuff-luck.jpg

We previously mentioned that a third horse died on the set of HBO's new series Luck.

Well now they've shut down all future production of the show.

And PETA sure is pleased.

PETA released a statement:

"Knowing that old, unfit, and drugged horses were forced to race for this series, PETA is glad that HBO has finally decided to cancel the show. We thank the whistleblowers who refused to let these horses' deaths go unnoticed.

Should Milch, Mann and HBO decide to start the series up again, PETA will be calling on them, as we have done from the start, to use stock racing footage instead of endangering horses for entertainment purposes.

PETA has called on law enforcement to investigate the deaths of the horses used on the set and to bring charges as appropriate."

Still clinging to their guns that they did everything they could to prevent the deaths, HBO released a statement:

"Safety is always of paramount concern. We maintained the highest safety standards throughout production - higher in fact than any protocols existing in horse racing anywhere, with many fewer incidents than occur in racing or than befall horses normally in barns at night or pastures.

While we maintained the highest safety standards possible, accidents unfortunately happen and it is impossible to guarantee they won't in the future. Accordingly, we have reached this difficult decision."

It's sad that that whole crew is now out of a job but we're glad that at least no more horses will be dying.

As we previously mentioned, another horse has died on the set of HBO's series, Luck.

PETA says the producers should ashamed of their "sloppy oversight" when it comes to the treatment and care of the horses.

Coincidentally enough
