U2 frontman Bono is now the proud king of trapdoor spiders….ok…not really…but the singer does have the honor of having a newly discovered species of spider named after him!
The spider was found at Joshua Tree and will now be classified as

Animal Defenders International will be honoring Bob Barker and Jorja Fox during a night jam packed with celebrities in Los Angeles.
Yay!
The event will be called Lion Ark Night to commemorate the 29 circus lions rescued from Bolivia and delivered to the United States. The gala will also feature a preview of the upcoming documentary Lion Ark - which we're super excited to eventually watch!

The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) is Australia's national science agency, and one of their taxonomists (bug people) has named a rare type of horse fly after Beyonce.
That's… nice. We think.
The fly has a large, golden rear end and so Beyonce immediately sprung to the researcher's mind.
He said:
"It was the unique dense golden hairs on the fly’s abdomen that led me to name this fly in honour of the performer Beyonce as well as giving me the chance to demonstrate the fun side of taxonomy – the naming of species."
Sounds like so much fun! Maybe we should change careers.

We wonder how she'll feel…
Flattered and slightly grossed out would seem an appropriate response.
