Well that was a side of Justin we haven't seen before. And believe it or not, we didn't hate it!
Justin Timberlake showed off a different sound when he performed at the 2015 CMA Awards on Wednesday. Yup, you read that right! The former *NSYNC heartthrob sang at an awards ceremony celebrating COUNTRY music.
We know. We were surprised when we first heard about it, too.
But the ex-boy band member took the stage at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville alongside Chris Stapleton, where they teamed up to perform a medley of their respective songs!
The southern gentlemen — joined by some unnamed girl who was just never addressed — started off singing the country crooner's track Tennesee Whiskey.
And while JT didn't have that standard country twang in his voice, this random dynamic duo actually sounded pretty good together!
The boys then busted out a bluesy version of the pop powerhouse's song Drink You Away, from his 2013 album The 20/20 Experience — 2 of 2.
Donning all black and backed by a brass band, the Tennessee and Kentucky natives brought the house down with big, elaborate, soulful riffs at the end of their set! Ch-ch-check it out (above)!
