Gabby Douglas must still be riding high off her Olympic all-around gymnastics win!
The gold medalist got to throw out the first ceremonial pitch at the Mets game at Citi Field.
She even spoke to some kids at a charity event before the game, saying:
"I wanted to tell my story and where I came from and my background, because it was not easy. I had to face a lot coming through this journey, a lot of sacrifices, difficulties, challenges, and injuries. So I wanted everyone to know it's still possible for anyone really. I wanted to make them know to never give up and always keep fighting, because though times may be tough, the sacrifices do pay off, so just keep pushing towards your dream and just love it at the same time and enjoy it."
What great words of wisdom from such a young girl.
It's so true! Just find something you have some talent in and also love to do and you'll be unstoppable!
So, was she nervous about throwing out a major league pitch?
"I did it once before, but this is like major, so I'm a little bit nervous. Everyone just tells me to throw the ball hard, so I'll throw it hard."
Ha! Great advice!
Just put all you got into it.
If you can literally be the best gymnast in the entire world right now, you can throw a pitch!
Congrats again on the golds, Gabby!
