Veterinary technician Carmen Bernard found a Siamese kitten on the road - its legs were all twisted up and later she found out it was blind.

Because of its condition - the cat, who's been named Pretzel, found it very painful to walk and needed help just to manage.

When Carmen took Pretzel to the vet - the animal doctor gave Carmen two options. The first option was to put Pretzel to sleep, and the second option was to prepare for a lot of surgery.

Carmen couldn't bear to put Pretzel to sleep, and after many months the kitty cat is prepping for its final operation to once and for all be healthy enough to walk!

A dog is fighting for his life after Hurricane Sandy killed his owner and her friend.

Max the dog has been taken off the critical list at Verg South veterinary hospital after a giant tree fell on his owner, Jessie Streich-Kest, her friend Jacob Vogelman, and him.

Streich-Kest and Vogelman were killed while Max needs more surgeries, but he is on the mend.

Charla Nash, who was nearly killed by a chimp in 2009, showed off her new face on the Today show Thursday morning.

Her new face is really just incredible!!

The chimp took off her nose, jaw, eyes, AND mouth. Our hats off to modern medicine. The before and after is almost unbelievable.

We wish Charla the best in her recovery!

We've heard of animals surviving some purdy steep falls, but this kitty surviver really must have 9 lives.

Gloucesterthe 16-year-old cat survived a breathtaking 20-story plunge from an Upper West Side apartment window with BARELY A SCRATCH!

"He didn't even chip a tooth or break a bone. I usually call him 'G,' but he's Super G. He is Miracle G now,"

his thankful owner, Barry Myers, 44, said yesterday of his amazing kitty's crash landing onto the pavement.

Gloucester's vet agreed, saying:

"He's lucky to be alive. Most cats would die outright, or suffer serious injuries. He made a miraculous recovery."

Myers mistakenly cracked the window open about six inches at his Lincoln Towers apartment before he left for Cape Cod with his wife and 5-year-old son for the July 4 weekend, never thinking that "G" could or would squeeze through.

We're sure G will make a speedy recovery… and possibly start fighting crime!

Last night former Disney bad girl turned sobriety spokesperson Demi Lovato was tweeting up storm!

The Sunny With A Chance star confided to her followers:

"Recovery is a daily battle, but such a beautiful gift from God that only YOU can give yourself."

She followed this tweet with more profound thoughts… JK!! She started posted some super cute pics of her puppy!

She captioned the pics:

"Seeeeepy ollliii…"

"I effing LOVE this dog…. Gahh… "

Then she quickly snapped back to reality, by adding:

"Btw it's funny how people come around now that your back on your feet and comin' out with a single… #wherewereyouLASTYEAR?!'

Aw. Demi!
We had no idea you felt that way.

We're sure that puppy isn't going to leave you!
(not just because you keep him zipped up in your bag either.)

Crazy Sauce!!!

Last August, Kahuna was found near Hutchinson Island in South Florida with nearly 60 percent of her front left flipper missing and several deep lacerations on her right front flipper

Veterinarians at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach, Florida, have spent the last nine months trying to rehabilitate her using antibiotics, vitamins and surgery.

Since none of that has helped her recovery Kahaua's vets are trying something new: hyperbaric oxygen therapy!

It's a treatment in which a patient, whether human or, in this case, turtle, breathes 100 percent oxygen intermittently while inside a pressurized treatment chamber (like Michael Jackson did for a while).

Although the science behind the success of hyperbaric therapy is not widely understood, it has been used to treat bone infections in humans and other animals, such as horses and pop stars.

Ouch!

Candace Bushnell shrugged off a pelvis injury sustained when she was thrown from a horse to celebrate her book, Summer and the City at a party Monday night.

Bushnell, who looked in fine form in a bandage dress and heels, said,

"I was doing dressage on this muscular horse. It started bucking, and I had to make the choice to come off. I cracked my pelvis, and spent two nights in the hospital. I couldn't walk for a few weeks. . . but I am still getting back on the horse."

We hope this makes it into her next book Sex and the Injury
