Closet Staples Vs. Trends: Do U Know The Difference???

neon-fashion-tips.jpg

Hi CocoPerezers!! Today I want to discuss the importance of both closet staples and trendy pieces.

First off, you CANNOT have a functioning wardrobe without a few key items- black dress pants, white tailored button down shirt, dark denim, white denim, camisoles, nude thongs, and shoes. Many many shoes in black & nude in different heel heights. Ok, maybe you don't need thousands of shoes, but the more the merrier!

Once you have your foundation of fashion, you may now add color and accessories. Let's use the neon trend for example: If you want to wear your button down and dark denim, add a neon pink skinny belt, a few gold bangles, and gold hoops to really make the outfit stand out. You'll look classy and rich and everything you want to be when you see your fav celeb. Don't we all strive to look like a celeb??

Anyhoo, make sure your use of the trend is MINIMAL and please don't wear more than two trends at once!

Mix 'N Match Patterns & Prints Without Looking Cray

leila-wolford-dishes-tips-on-prints-and-patterns.jpg

Hello gorgeous fashion babies! I have some really important info for you regarding the use of patterns and prints and how to wear them together without looking like a crazy lady on the street.

We are so very blessed to be living in a time where it is not only acceptable, but COOL to mix and match different prints and patterns.

One of the main rules is to make sure the pieces you are mixing either COMPLIMENT each other OR are in the same color family as each other aka monochromatic. This means you put a printed pink tone top with a patterned fuchsia bottom. You don't want them to clash, so if you're worried about it, try wearing a printed dress with a different pattern bracelet or a less-extreme combo until you feel fully confident in your mixing and matching abilities! Just have fun, and remember that CONFIDENCE is what really sells your outfit.

What To Do If you Have Dry Skin

chloe-butcher-shares-makeup-tips.jpg

A CoColicious reader asks our makeup expert Chloë Butcher:

Hi Chloe,

I have really dry facial skin. I need oily items just to get rid of the flakes I get. I assume that anything with shea butter and olive oil are out. Can I use Vaseline Intensive Care lotions or creams?

Thanks
Jo

Chloë reveals:

Hi Jo!

I suggest you try some of Decleors range of facial oils. They are brilliant! My favourite is Neroli as its great for all skin types but you could try Aromique

Quick Tip Of The Day: Halloween Edition

jeannie-mai-halloween-tips.jpg

Jeannie Mai is back to share her last great tip for Halloween outfits this year.

Today’s quick tip is:

Take that slutty version of your policewoman/cowboy/alien/robot/superhero/etc. of an outfit you were planning to wear and burn it.

Don't look like every other hootch out there, and make something creative that doesn't require your Arby's hanging out!

Sounds easy enough! And a lot classier!
