Some of the most devoted fans in history are those of Michael Jackson, so it is no surprise that the fans have come out in droves to shower his mausoleum with gifts.
The staff at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, CA have realized the commodity that they have with the King of Pop, so they’ve decided to bank on it! Now, if you want to bring MJ a gift at his gravesite, the staff will gladly take it to him for you – for a $3 surcharge.
This new gifting policy is now the only way to have tokens of affection brought into the singer’s mausoleum. And by that, we mean flowers, because the new rules also state that anything but flowers, meaning candles, teddy bears and shrines, will be immediately tossed. And, should the tomb get a little crowded, the flowers will then be placed outside of his final resting place.
Hmm. We don’t think too many fans are going to be happy with this arrangement. We’re ready to hear all kinds of backlash!
