Recall!

870,000 Toyotas Recalled Because Of Spiders?!

Toyota recalled 870,000 cars because of a spider problem???

So do you own a Toyota? Because this sounds terrifying!

Toyota is recalling 870,000 vehicles because of problem… caused by spiders!!

It’s all about the airbag, and no, it’s not like they accidentally filled their airbag with spiders so when you get in a fender bender, you get blasted with a face full of spiders.

That literally sounds like the worst thing ever!

What happens is, if spiderwebs block a drainage tube coming from the air conditioner condenser, water can drip down onto an airbag control module and cause a short circuit.

This, at a minimum, can cause the airbag warning light to come on and at worse can make the driver’s side airbag randomly deploy!!

That happens with explosive force and could be super inconvenient if you’re just sitting at a light, rocking out to NPR or whatever it is you crazy kids listen to nowadays.

The model years involved are the 2012 and 2013 Camrys, Venzas and Avalons (hybrid and regular versions.)

So if you have one of those cars and live somewhere were spiders are (literally everywhere except Antarctica we guess) then take your car to a Toyota dealer like ASAP!!

Your car will be fixed free of charge and we’re sure there will be free water somewhere at the dealership so help yourself!
