Smear Campaign Against Britney's Boyfriend!

They are trying to cover their butts!

Faced with the future legal action against them by Britney Spears, Star magazine is now trying to dig dirt on her boyfriend, agent Jason Trawick, sources reveal exclusively to PerezHilton.com.

Reporters for the tabloid have been contacting people close to Trawick, from as far back as college and more, trying to get them to spill the beans on the man they claim beat the pop star. “They’re hoping to get or create negative stories,” an insider tells us. “I wouldn’t be surprised if Star even made more shit up!”

Despite Spears and her camp denying their story and their alleged tape and audio experts denying said tape’s validity, Star is standing by their story and now they’re out on a witch hunt! So, we’d be very suspicious of any items coming from them about Jason Trawick in the next few weeks!

Britney’s got the money to sue them and we think that may be happening – very soon!
