Do remember a band called Wicked Wisdom? C’mon! Of course you do! Remember, “Something inside of meeeee is … PISSED!” Remember Jada Pinkett Smith’s wild mane of hair whipping back and forth before Willow was even a twinkle in her eye?! No? Yes? Eh, it doesn’t matter.
The point is, Jada was once a rocking babe with a rocking band, until she became a rocking mom with a rocking brood to raise. Jada reveals in a new interview that it was hard to make the sacrifice of her music career for her kids, explaining:
“I had to make choices. Believe me, I would still be on the road with my band Wicked Wisdom, and making as many movies as I can a year, and doing all sort of things if I didn’t have the responsibility of a family.”
Don’t be mistaken though. She isn’t bitter. In fact, she couldn’t be prouder of all the accomplishments of her family, especially her kids. She says:
“But I have children with their own talents and dreams, and I know I have to be standing next to them for that journey … It still makes me nervous that they’re part of something that isn’t totally real, but it’s up to Will and me to teach them what’s real and what’s not.”
So far, we think you guys are doing a fantastic job! And who knows? You’re still young! Once the kids are teenagers, maybe you’ll all tour together! Willow and you could have a joint tour! Wouldn’t that be fun?!
