Hunger Games To Get The TV Treatment?!

Witches, vampires and maybe even The Hunger Games???
Sounds like The CW could possibly be adding a Hunger Games-esque show to their lineup this fall, starring Friday Night Lights‘ Aimee Teegarden!
The network, which aims its programming at young adults, has a pilot called The Selection, which is about a girl (Teegarden) who lives in a Panem-like society and is chosen to enter a cray cray competition to marry a prince!
Sounds pretty familiar, right?
Like the film, the show would be based off a series of books by author Kiera Cass, due out April 24!!
Cass’ agent says the show won’t be an exact TV adaptation to the film, revealing:

├óΓé¼┼ôKiera’s characters are not killing each other; it’s a love story, a fairy tale.├óΓé¼┬¥

The agent goes on to say that the project is “The Hunger Games meets The Bachelor,├óΓé¼┬¥ and is hoping to piggyback off of the film├óΓé¼Γäós success, just as The CW├óΓé¼Γäós other show, The Vampire Diaries, did with Twilight.
Seems like a smart move to us!!
Now, the pilot has to fight for a time slot on the network, going up against The Carrie Diaries and Arrow.
