Italy Bans Plastic Bags

As of New Year’s day, plastic bags are banned in Italy.

According to WWF biologist Eva Alessi, each Italian uses 400 plastic bags a year, making up 25% of plastic-bag use in Europe, so this ban was a long time coming.

Environmentalists everywhere are praising Italy for this move, as plastic bags are terrible for the earth and can take decades to decompose.

The US needs to follow Italy’s example!!
