Lynda Carter Recommends Therapy For Young Celebs

Lynda Carter therapy

What is Lynda Carter‘s advice to young stars on the verge of becoming celebrities? Therapy!

The former Wonder Woman said in a recent interview:

“I think the one thing the Screen Actors Guild should do is, when fame first hits you, that you are required to go to therapy because everybody loves you. Until you realize, no, they don’t really love you. They love the character and the persona. They love that. But you can’t get all over yourself.”

We don’t know about required, but don’t think it’s a bad idea for some celebs to get some counseling these days.

Lynda called fame a “burden”, then proceeded to talk about the lengths she had to go to in order to walk around unnoticed at her son’s college, explaining:

“When my son went to college, [he] said ‘you don’t have to go with me when I go in.’ So I said, ‘Oh it’s ‘The W.’ How about I come and I wear a disguise?’ So I went out and bought this great short blonde wig and I walked in and he looked at me and I said, ‘good isn’t it?’ And he said ‘yea it’s good.’ I knew secretly he was delighted. I wore it and not one person recognized me.”

We’re sure a bunch of aspiring actors will completely disregard her advice and insist they can handle any pressure fame brings their way, however, it’s not a bad suggestion! The bottom line is that fame can become just as much as an addiction as drugs or alcohol if people aren’t prepared.
