Elton John Urges Florida Governor To Save AIDS/HIV Funding

Florida Governor Rick Scott is planning to defund a program that helps low-income HIV/AIDS patients get medication to control the virus.

Elton John is urging him to not do that.

John wrote Scott a letter asking him to reconsider his changes to the HIV/AIDS program, and that the potential changes could mean that 1,600 people would no longer get the medication they need.

A spokesperson for the government says that no changes will go into effect immediately.

There are a lot of things that the government could cut back — HIV/AIDS prevention SHOULD NOT be one of them!!
