Bethenny Frankel admitted in a candid interview with Life & Style magazine that she’s realized that she’s too thin, and she is focusing on being healthier despite her past issues with body image.
“I’m too thin. Because I’m so busy, I’m not always hungry. I have to make myself eat more because of my busy schedule.”
“Girls put a lot of pressure on themselves to be skinny,” she acknowledges. “They don’t understand that it’s not about a quick fix — but a healthy lifestyle.”
Bethenny confessed that in the past she would starve herself, binge on laxatives and try fad diets until just a few years ago. “I was completely obsessed my entire life, until my 30s.” These days she makes sure to eat sensible meals, whereas in the past she would drink alcohol and not eat, only to binge later in the evening. But those days of abusing her body and depriving herself are over, “Everything I do [now] is about being healthier,” she shares.
It’s wonderful to hear that you’ve chosen a healthy lifestyle over an extremely thin lifestyle!
What we don’t quite understand, though, is how you can endorse your product called Skinnygirl and still want to promote a healthy weight lifestyle, when it seems like it’s promoting a skinny and thin lifestyle. That puts a lot of emphasis on girls being skinny, don’t you think?
We DO think a healthier type of alcohol is a great idea, but we’re not that keen on the name and the connotations it brings with it (it kinda feels like you’re preying on insecurities to sell it).
But hey, at least you’re openly talking about your weight and health now — so it isn’t like you are hiding behind the idea that being skinny is the only thing that matters anymore — and we congratulate you on that! That’s how you use your celebrity power for good!
How do U guys feel about the Skinnygirl moniker??
