Some people claim they can’t get to sleep without blazing. Did they try any other methods? Perhaps ones what wouldn’t bother their partners?
Sometimes they haven’t, and in those cases it can be extremely frustrating for their loved ones, so here was a question for Craig Nabat:
My boyfriend is smoking weed 24/7. I cannot stand it. Its because he doesn’t sleep well but surely he doesn’t need it all the time. HELP!
Here’s Craig’s response:
Ask your boyfriend, if he can remember what his life was like before smoking pot. His answer will give you proof that he definitely doesn’t need to smoke weed all the time or need it at all for that matter. He wasn’t born a pot smoker, this is a learned behavior. No one needs to get high to go about their day to day life, despite what they may say; they will function totally fine once off pot for a couple weeks, if they are a daily user.
There are many people who claim to use marijuana to help them sleep. The problem with using pot daily, especially for sleep can create a drug dependency. Then the user totally conditions their mind and body that sleep will become virtually impossible without blazing at night. This can be a problem in the event of weed not being available; your boyfriend surely would struggle most of the night trying to get to sleep without it. This same type of dependency can occur with sleeping pills once you start taking them regularly, it can be very difficult to sleep without taking them. Many people have suffered these side effects from prescription sleep aids, me included.
I made a personal decision to only use supplements versus prescribed sleeping aids to help me sleep. Try recommending to your boyfriend to use over the counter supplements instead of pot, it should make it easier for him to fall asleep, supplements like: Kava Kava, Valerian Root, or Melatonin. I tried them all and found which one I liked the best. The supplements should be taken 1-2 hours prior to going to sleep. Usage of any of these supplements may cut down on his amount of marijuana usage, if he really feels he cannot sleep without getting high.
Thanks, Craig! Hope this helps, reader!
