No, he wasn’t protecting his family.
Dan Richards, the president of the California Fish and Game Commission has hunted and killed a mountain lion… for sport.
Seeing as how this is illegal in California, he went to Idaho to go murder some animals.
The Humane Society of California pointed out that mountain lions aren’t hunted for food├óΓé¼┬ª only sport.
The above photo didn’t leak or anything either.
He gave it to Western Outdoor News. It came with a caption that read:

“Asked about California├óΓé¼Γäós mountain lion moratorium, Richards didn├óΓé¼Γäót hesitate. ‘I’m glad it├óΓé¼Γäós legal in Idaho.'”

So not only does he enjoy killing animals for fun, he even opposes animal protection efforts, like the Marine Life Protection Act.
The HSUS has suggested that people contact the California Fish and Game Commission and politely demand that Richards is removed from power.
We think that’s probably a good idea.
