The search for missing country singer Craig Strickland was called off for the night on Tuesday, but is set to resume Wednesday morning.
ICYMI: The search continues for the Backyard Anthem vocalist who went duck hunting with pal Chase Morland in Oklahoma on Sunday. Morland, 22, was found dead on Monday morning after their boat was found capsized in Kaw Lake north of Tulsa just after midnight earlier that morning. Strickland’s elderly dog Sam was found alive guarding Morland’s body.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the search crews have been using a sonar boat and helicopter to find the 29-year-old musician.

Morland sent out a somewhat-foreshadowing tweet just before heading out on the hunting trip, which was retweeted by Strickland:
In case we don’t come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. ├░┼╕╦£ΓǪ #IntoTheStorm

So sad.
And on Tuesday night, Craig’s wife Helen Strickland took to the same social media site to thank followers for their support and to offer a poignant bible passage after authorities called off the search for the night:
The search is called for the night-will resume in the morning. We are overwhelmed with the love and prayers we have received. Thank you all.
