Penelope Cruz is going to be a Bond girl! Or should we say Bond woman?
According to a source in the production, the Vicky Cristina Barcelona star will play opposite Daniel Craig in the 24th official James Bond film!
The as-yet-untitled film will begin production in summer 2014, just after Penelope cruises past her 40th birthday, making her the oldest femme ever to get fatale with the super spy!
That honor was previously held by Honor- Honor Blackman, who played Pussy Galore in 1962’s Goldfinger!
Penelope is also currently pregnant, but the source says producers are not worried about the new baby’s impact on Penelope’s schedule- or her bod! The source says:
“She got back into shape fast after the first baby and will no doubt regain her figure quickly this time. She├óΓé¼Γäóll be a great Bond girl. Bond girls are always brainy as well as sexy, and that├óΓé¼Γäós totally Penelope.”
The real question is whether Penelope’s character will have anything to do with hubby Javier Bardem‘s villainous Silva from Skyfall.
We’re guessing director Sam Mendes saw her visiting Javier on set and just knew he had to have her! Who doesn’t feel that way about Penelope Cruz?!
