Idris Elba Said To Be Frontrunner For Next James Bond As Producers Are Eyeing A 'Non-White Actor' To Take Over The Role!

It looks like James Bond producers are starting to warm up to the idea of Idris Elba taking on the role after all!
The Luther star’s name has been floating around as a contender to replace Daniel Craig ever since the current 007 made it clear how much he hates playing the character.
Of course, there were other, less so-called “street” (read: vanilla) contenders as well: Tom Hardy, Tom Hiddleston, and Henry Cavill are all said to be in the running.

But new reports indicate that Bond producers are now leaning towards a “non-white actor” to take over the iconic role when Craig taps out, and Elba is apparently the frontrunner once again.
The Independent reports:

“Director Antoine Fuqua revealed the details of a conversation with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli, in which she said ‘it is time’ for a non-white actor to take on the iconic role. Fuqua discussed who might be next in the running with Broccoli, who’s certain the progressive move ‘will happen eventually’, with Idris Elba a reported frontrunner for the role.”

There you have it! We’ll get a black Bond… eventually!
Craig has been confirmed to play the role once more (despite him stating that he’d rather slash his wrists) in a film directed by Danny Boyle.
When do YOU think we’ll get a non-white 007?
