Miley Cyrus is 100% happy with her controversial VMA performance — so much so, she’s categorizing herself with the likes of Britney Spears and Madonna!!
Maybe she felt a lil’ extra confident in saying so following Justin Timberlake‘s comparisons, as Miley opened up about the twerk and said:
‘Me and Robin, the whole time said, ‘You know we’re about to make history right now.’ What’s amazing is I think now, we’re three days later and people are still talking about it. They’re over-thinking it. You’re thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did it. Like, I didn’t even think about it ’cause that’s just me. I don’t pay attention to the negative because I’ve seen this play out so many times. How many times have we seen this play out in pop music? Madonna’s done it. Britney’s done it. Every VMAs performance, that’s what you’re looking for; you’re wanting to make history.”
She’s right! People are definitely still talking about it!
Everywhere you go, someone’s got an opinion on the foam fingering (including the inventor of said foam finger).
But what’s truly interesting about her statement is how she says she didn’t think about that much yet she was still trying to make history with Robin Thicke. Hmm..
Maybe it doesn’t take a lot of thought to make history these days! But if you knew it was gonna happen, why be so amazed when people are still talking about it three days later?
