Elizabeth Banks Was Dressed In WHICH Precious Creature For Hunger Games: Catching Fire?!?

Elizabeth Banks delves into the details of her incredible wardrobe for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire!
We know you’re thinking to yourselves, ermergerddddd how many butterflies were killed in the making of this dress???
And we’re happy to report the answer is NONE! Unfortunately, we can’t say the same for the birds, because this dress is totes covered in 10,000 hand-painted feathers!!!
Yup, you heard us right. The monarch-inspired frock Elizabeth Banks wears as Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was only complete after countless hours of excruciating details came together to form only ONE of many exquisite Effie looks.
Elizabeth recently elaborated on her incredibly stunning wardrobe in the flick, saying:

“A lot of it is couture right off the runway. Trish Summerville came in to do costumes. She really sourced everything from an incredible group of designers. A lot of it was Alexander McQueen and like really museum quality stuff. I wear this butterfly dress that’s actually 10,000 feathers hand painted to look like monarch butterflies. That’s the kind of detail we’re dealing with on this film.”

The butterfly dress was one of the museum-grade Alexander McQueen pieces, because of course it was.
