Well, that was quick.
Elle has already responded to the controversy brewing around their latest issue featuring four different covers of Mindy Kaling, Amy Poehler, Allison Williams, and Zooey Deschanel.
The covers with Amy, Allison, and Zooey are in color and show the women in three-quarter views, while Mindy’s is black and white and cropped to mostly show her head and shoulders.
It’s kind of an obvious difference!
But here’s what Elle had to say about the matter:
“Mindy looks sexy, beautiful and chic. We think it is a striking and sophisticated cover and are thrilled to celebrate her in our Women in TV Issue.”
Nobody said Mindy doesn’t look sexy, beautiful or chic; peeps are just wondering WHY her cover is so different from the other three!
When the four are featured side-by-side, it’s a pretty blatant case of “one of these things is not like the other.”
The Elle statement doesn’t exactly explain the reason for the difference, so perhaps they should try again!
