Because the Coldplay frontman outbid a ton of rich biddies to snag Gwyneth Paltrow a balloon.
Well, it’s actually a picture of a heart-shaped balloon by allusively famous mystery graffiti artist, Banksy!
The duo, who are rarely seen together in public, were spotted on Saturday night at Sean Penn├óΓé¼╦£s Help Haiti Home gala—which raised approximately $6 million benefitting J/P Haitian Relief Organization.
The reported painting called Red Balloon started an alleged bidding war between Charlize Theron and Chris, but Gwynie’s beau won the pricey $650,000 battle!
And he’s not even the celeb that dropped the most dough Saturday night!
The official MC, Anderson Cooper, spent an astronomical $1.4 million for a yet-to-be-created sculpture by Jeff Koons.
Holy gosh darn expensive!
Glad to see these celebs opening their pockets for charity, though!
