Cory Monteith Really Was Lea Michele's Biggest Cheerleader! You'll Adore This Big Moment He Helped With Before His Sudden Death

We all knew Cory Monteith had a big role in Lea Michele‘s life. She has said he was her biggest fan and always rallied for her, but who knew he had a hand in shaping her memoir, Brunette Ambition?
More specifically though, the chapter that would tell the world how bestie, Jonathan Groff, came out to her.
At her Barnes & Noble book signing, the Glee star opened up about her writing process and explained how Cory helped her scale back on exposing too much of her relationship with her BFF.
She said to Jonathan and the crowd:

“I did write a lot in the book about you coming out to me and what that was like.
I remember Cory telling me when he read the book, ‘You have to be├óΓé¼┬ª You’ve got to be careful because you’re talking about someone.'”

With that being said, Lea took her book back to the drawing board and said she “edited down that chapter a lot.”
She continued to tell the crowd that there were endless things she wanted to say about everyone in her life, but she really had to contemplate that after Cory’s advice.
Lea said:

“I think when you’re writing a book, it’s very important to think about the people [you’re] talking about. I really wanted to talk about everyone a lot. You have to take into consideration: How will I affect them?”

As much as we’d LOVE all the juicy gossip on everyone in her life (and all the dirt on the Glee scandals), we’re glad Cory pointed that out to Lea!
She could’ve lost or destroyed a number of relationships! Some people are less forgiving than others.
What a close call though, right?
