Oh my, poor Benedict Cumberbatch! Those fans sure can be crazy!
The Sherlock actor has been at the Toronto International Film Festival promoting his upcoming film The Imitation Game where he plays famed gay WWII codebreaker Alan Turing.
Well, during the panel with the director, Keira Knightly, and others in the cast, Benedict got asked QUITE the question by an overzealous fan.
The underlying question was what one aspect of the famed codebreaker did Ben identify with most, but she bookended the question with two inquisitions about his ‘yumminess.’
Seriously.
She said:
‘Benedict, I actually think you’re quite yummy. You really are quite yummy… Would I be able to feast on your yumminess?’
Well, the actor was certainly caught off guard as everyone around him burst out in laughter, but managed to answer the question with almost complete composure.
He said:
‘I’ll answer the first part of your question, which is… Christ. Sorry, I’m taken. I did not go into this Q&A about a gay icon who killed himself at 41 thinking I’d have to answer questions from someone who wants to taste my deliciousness… I tried to play his learning curves as a human being. I found him inspiring… for all his differences, he’s one of us.’
LOLz! What grace and poise he used!
He must be used to women asking him strange questions like this! Poor guy!
