Benedict Cumberbatch found himself in a Strange situation last week.
According to a newly released video filmed by a passerby in London, the Marvel star got into a heated argument with a bicyclist after allegedly running some red lights. According to what the onlooker told PageSix, the masked cycler got annoyed with Benedict allegedly breaking road rules, and followed him until the actor pulled over on his own bike. That’s when the “10 minute” long argument broke out.
In the video, the masked cyclist can be heard fussing at Benedict:
“You’re deluded, you’re lying. I was behind you the entire time.”
That’s when the 49-year-old Sherlock star accused the man of “verbally” abusing him, to which the man responded sarcastically:
“Oh no, I verbally abused the guy who completely repeatedly broke the law.”

Benedict allegedly says:
“I did it once.”
But it should be noted that it’s hard to be sure what he’s allegedly admitting to, if anything. The unknown bicyclist accused Benedict of running two red lights, which he vehemently denied. This whole argument went on for about 10 minutes, per the eyewitness, and eventually fizzled out. Hilariously, Benedict seemed unbothered after the fact, because he went to take some photos with young fans who had spotted him.
The onlooker told the outlet:
“It was crazy. It was such a pompous road rage it almost felt like it had been staged. Benedict still managed to charm everyone watching even though he was having a meltdown.”
He said the two men “went at each other about five times” before the argument ended, and that they “blocked the lane so no one else could get through” while they were fussing. And even though the masked man was shocked when he saw who the actor was, he didn’t shy away from the argument:
“The masked guy was obviously some kind of vigilante — he was really taken aback when he saw it was Benedict Cumberbatch, but he doubled down on his rage. I don’t condone dangerous driving, but for this guy to follow him and cause an incident like this was worse than Benedict slowly cutting that light.”
