Benedict Cumberbatch is totally off the market now (cue the crying), and the way he announced his engagement to fiancée Sophie Hunter was so adorable!
He had the papers run the marriage news!

Well, with the premiere of his film The Imitation Game the other night, Benedict finally explained exactly why his pending union was reported that way, and it totally makes sense!
He said:

“It’s what I would have done if I wasn’t famous. It’s a normal thing to do in my country. It was a way of telling our friends who we hadn’t been able to tell before [they saw] some grainy shot of a ring on her finger.”

How freakin’ cute is that?!?
So old school in an increasingly modern society! We love it!
