Homolicious!
CNN’s Anderson Cooper bought a historic Greenwich Village firehouse for $4.3 million!
The 8,420 square foot building still has its original spiral staircases, brass fire poles, and murals on the walls documenting the fire patrol’s history.
The firehouse was not a part of the FDNY but rather the old insurance-funded Fire Patrol. There’s no approval as of yet for residential conversion but the interior is being demolished and the permit lists architect/developer Cary Tamarkin as the man in charge.
The century-old building has been nominated for the National Register of Historic Places and Anderson could stand to get a tax break on the property if the facade is kept up.
We just like the image of Anderson sliding down a pole in his personal firehouse.
HAWT!
