Cyndi Lauper is a true angel!
Lauper is opening The True Colors Residence in the winter of 2011, aimed at homeless LGBTQ youth in New York, between the ages 18-24!
“Kids are coming out in greater numbers as they see themselves accepted and represented on TV and in movies, but they├óΓé¼Γäóre still being kicked out of their homes or running away and living on the streets,” stated Cyndi.
“We need to make sure we├óΓé¼Γäóre taking care of them. This is the next generation of the LGBT community,” she concluded.
An estimated 3,000-8,000 LGBTQ youth are currently homeless in New York City, and The True Colors Residence will provide a number of them with permanent residences with 30 studio apartments planned for the 6-story building on West 154th Street.
