If you are one of the people who shelled out money to Simon Monjack and the Brittany Murphy Foundation only to hear that it was a bust, fear not. Simon says he’s giving it all back.
In a statement today, Simon revealed that the foundation only collected about $800 between the time it was started and the time it was told to shut down because Simon had not taken the necessary steps to make it legit. Now, he is refunding the pocket change cash to all those who donated and claims he’s taking “the proper steps” to start a legit foundation with his departed wife’s namesake.
It would be a nice gesture, but considering how much you raised, perhaps its one that’s better left on the back burner.
