Alan Cumming Credits Dogs For Acting Career

Alan Cumming says his childhood dogs inspired him to be an actor

No, he’s not talking about his agents.

In a recent interview, The Tempest star Alan Cumming has revealed that he believes his passion for acting came from his two childhood West Highland terriers, Kerry and Shona.

Growing up with a physically and emotionally abusive father on Scotland’s Panmure Estate, Cumming found an escape while playing with his two canine companions, saying:

“I’d just go into the forest and walk with the dogs, make up stories. I think that’s how I became an actor.”

Not only did they inspire his imagination, but his lifelong love for dogs as he now keeps a ten-year-old collie-shepherd mix Honey and Chihuahua Leon by his side.

Do U have any similar experiences? Were U inspired by any pets?
