Is France big enough for both Angelina Jolie AND Brad Pitt’s bestie George Clooney??
The friends-turned-enemies are reportedly asking themselves that question as they both set their sights on the European country as their new home. As we’ve been following, George and Amal Clooney recently secured dual citizenship between the US and France through naturalization. The couple took things a step further by relocating their family life with 8-year-old twins Alexander and Ella from Hollywood to a sprawling estate in Brignoles, Provence, France in search of a different lifestyle. Now, Angelina is reportedly hot on their heels — but there’s a BIG, Brad-shaped problem!
On Wednesday, an insider told RadarOnline things could turn awkward as George remains fiercely loyal to his longtime bestie Brad, who has been battling it out in court with Angelina for the past decade over their French winery Chateau Miraval:
“George remains incredibly loyal to Brad and always will be. His relationship with Angie was severed as soon as she dumped Brad.”
Oof!
In late 2023, Angelina memorably raved about wanting to escape the “shallow” confines of Hollywood in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. She noted he “social life” had dwindled down to a few close friends who come from “war and conflict,” in addition to the six children she shares with Brad:
“They are the closest people to me and my life, and they’re my close friends. We’re seven very different people, which is our strength.”
Together, the exes share Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 19, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 17.
According to the RadarOnline, Angie recently, gushed about the the freedom she feels in France after shooting her Paris-set new film Couture:
“I find it very enriching as an artist and as a woman to be in France. I feel that more of myself comes out here. The conversations seem deeper and more enriching to me.”
An added emotional connection is that Knox and Vivienne were born in Nice — so it’s sort of a full circle moment for her! However, as she noted in her interview with the WSJ, her lengthy legal battle with Brad has kept her tied to the US:
“It’s part of what happened after my divorce. I lost the ability to live and travel as freely.”
She teased at the time:
“I will move when I can.”
Well, Knox and Vivienne are now less than three months away from turning 18, and the Oscar-winning actress is that much closer to reclaiming her freedom. The RadarOnline source dished:
“Angelina’s future is absolutely in France. She’s currently honing her French-speaking skills.”
However, what’s an exciting ambition for the Maria actress is reportedly an annoyance for George. The source spilled:
“France has welcomed George with open arms. But now he’s hoping she stays the heck away.”
Oof. We’re sure they’d be able to make it work — we mean, it’s not like they’d be roommates! Ha!
