BritBrit is CRUSHED right now and we can’t blame her!
The lovely Annette Funicello, unofficial Godmother to the entire Mickey Mouse Club Family, died today!
Before she blew up big with …Baby One More Time, Britney Spears was, of course, an adorable little mini Mousketeer herself and likely looked up to Annette as a role model!
Brit initially let loose a big faux pas when she accidentally referred to Annette’s passing as “great,” but that seemed like a misunderstanding.
After further digesting the terrible news, she tweeted:

She was truly a most gracious of icons and will be sorely missed!
Annette, 70, succumbed to a long battle with multiple sclerosis.
