Ariana Grande Blasted By Friends Of Ethan Slater's Wife Lilly For 'Complete Lack Of Remorse' In New Single!

Not everyone is a fan of Ariana Grande’s new music!

For those who haven’t heard, the 30-year-old pop star dropped her first song in three years on Friday. She noticeably hit back at the backlash she faced for dating her married Wicked co-star Ethan Slater, singing at one point in yes, and?:

“Your business is yours, and mine is mine / Why do you care so much whose **** I ride?”

When the track dropped, many people slammed Ariana on social media for writing a whole piece about the cheating allegations. They also called out the Victorious alum for trying to play the victim when the actual victims impacted by the alleged affair were Ethan’s estranged wife, Lilly Jay, and their 1-year-old son. Oof. And social media users aren’t the only ones upset over the song!

According to Dailymail.com on Friday, a source close to Lilly blasted the singer for her “complete lack of remorse” for allegedly having an affair with her estranged husband:

“For her to take the opportunity in her first song since all of this went down to show a complete lack of remorse for her actions is utterly disrespectful. Ariana is dating a man who is still married. She is flaunting her relationship with a married man – a married man who has a one-year-old child at home with his still wife. Yes, Ariana has destroyed a home and she does not seem to care.”

Yikes! The insider continued to rip into Ariana, saying she “lacks empathy” overall:

“Ariana could have taken this opportunity to create music that would be therapeutic for her to heal and for fans to listen to. She could have taken this time to create art that would help those who were hurt to heal. But she didn’t. She created art that basically says, ‘f**k you I don’t care what I did to hurt anyone because I am happy.’”

Clearly, those on team Lilly don’t like the new single! But is anyone surprised by the reaction from Ariana about the cheating rumors? She did pen a whole post last month about how she was “deeply misunderstood” and accused people of making “assumptions” about her life — although a lot of evidence points to her allegedly having an affair with Ethan. So many fans expected Ari to still respond this way to the chatter about her personal life!

However, an insider close to the songstress is firing back at the allegations about the song! The Dailymail.com source insisted the track does not “address anyone specific,” explaining:

“The song clearly does not address anyone specific or any one specific instance. Ariana has been the subject of public scrutiny for over a decade. If you watch the video, the people she’s performing to are literally played by critics. The lyrics and the video are really quite clear. It is a song about not judging each other or a situation by hearsay and about how you never know what people are going through or healing from.”

Yes, and? may be about multiple topics, but she clearly refers to the backlash over her dating Ethan at several points! And those lyrics appear to be angering a lot of people so far, including those close to Lilly! What are YOUR thoughts on the song, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments below.
