Ariana Grande‘s beau Ethan Slater has finally finalized his divorce from Lilly Jay!
TMZ obtained court documents on Friday that declared the Broadway star and his high school sweetheart reached a settlement in their divorce, which a judge signed off on Thursday. Because the split took place in New York state, the terms of the agreement are sealed. So, that’s all we know about the divorce for now!
The exes share a young son, born in 2022. It’s unclear what they have agreed on in terms of child custody — or if they’ve even reached an arrangement. At the time of the divorce in July 2023, TMZ reported that the actor “desperately” wanted to co-parent with Lilly. The Spongebob SquarePants: The Broadway Musical lead was supposedly “determined to have a major presence in the boy’s life.” So, we have to imagine he fought hard for some custody. But, again, it’s unclear where they stand on that matter.

As Perezcious readers know, it was a pretty contentious end to the marriage amid affair rumors with the pop star. Ethan first started dating Lilly in 2012 after growing up together, and they were married in 2018 before welcoming their son four years later. Unfortunately, s**t hit the fan the next year after Ethan met the Victorious alum on the set of their upcoming Wicked movie adaptation. In July 2023, reports surfaced that Ariana split from her husband Dalton Gomez — and just days later, her romance with Ethan made headlines, igniting a bunch of affair rumors.
The singer’s divorce was officially finalized in March after they reached a settlement in October, one month after they both filed. Court papers viewed by Entertainment Tonight stated that they had a prenup, making it a fairly easy legal process. That said, the Grammy winner agreed to pay her ex a one-time payment of $1,250,000. She also agreed to give him half of the profits from the sale of their LA home and cover his attorney’s fees of $25,000. Meanwhile, they both agreed not to share information about their relationship moving forward.
While Ariana and Ethan have spent much of their relationship hiding from the spotlight, they have started to get a little bit more public with their romance, such as during a date night at the Stanley Cup Finals in June. Their highly-anticipated musical movie comes out in November, so we bet the co-stars will be together a lot more very soon! With both of their divorces behind them, maybe they won’t be so shy about PDA now?? We’ll have to wait and see!
