Even Arnold Schwarzenegger has body image issues.
In the February issue of Cigar Aficionado, the 69-year-old — who has been the picture of physical fitness for years — declared that he still struggles to accept his appearance.

The Terminator alum admitted to the mag that he gets physically ill when he sees his reflection, revealing:
“When I look in the mirror, I throw up.”
Woah.
What’s even more heartbreaking is the new Celebrity Apprentice host confessed this reaction isn’t just a recent development, adding:
“And I was already so critical of myself, even when I was in top physical shape. I’d look in the mirror after I won one Mr. Olympia after another and think, ‘How did this pile of sh*t win?'”
Wow. So sad.
The former governor continued to explain why he never felt happy with his flawless body, saying:
“I never saw perfection. There was always something lacking. I could always find a million things wrong with myself and that’s what got me back into the gym ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ because I started out with that mentality.”
And, the actor still hits the gym every day:
“My day cannot start without doing something physically. And I work out at night before bed ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ cardio, weight-training. I want to stay in shape as long as I can.”
He stressed that, despite his severe lack of confidence, his workouts help him feel better:
“I do lack confidence, but I do the reps and do them enough that the thing itself will be doable when it’s time. When I was competing at bodybuilding, I did so many hours of reps ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ on the weights, practicing the poses ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ that when I got onstage, I was comfortable and confident. The more reps you do, the more you look smooth and convincing. The more you do it, the better you get. [├óΓé¼┬ª] That’s how you gain confidence.”
Thank you for sharing your story, Arnold.
