Patrick Schwarzenegger Frustrated With Claims He Got White Lotus Role From Nepotism: 'I Wish I Didn't Have My Last Name'

Patrick Schwarzenegger Says 'It's Frustrating' White Lotus Fans Say He Only Got Casted Due To Nepotism!

Patrick Schwarzenegger doesn’t want his career to be boiled down to who his parents are.

The White Lotus Season 3 has been a big hit since it premiered on Max last week, and fans have been LOVING getting slapped in the face with surprises! Like Patrick’s provocative full frontal scene! But Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver‘s son wants everyone to know this role wasn’t just handed to him because of his famous fam. Hmm.

He said in an interview with The Sunday Times over the weekend:

“I know there are people who’ll say I only got this role because of who my dad is. They’re not seeing that I’ve had ten years of acting classes, put on [high] school plays every week, worked on my characters for hours on end or the hundreds of rejected auditions I’ve been on.”

The 31-year-old went on to add that sometimes he’s even wished he “didn’t have” his unmistakable surname:

“Of course, it’s frustrating and you can get boxed in and you think at that moment, I wish I didn’t have my last name. But that’s a small moment. I would never trade my life with anyone. I’m very fortunate to have the life and family that I have, the parents I have and the lessons and values they’ve instilled in me.”

Wow!

Look, there’s no denying his INSANE privilege, from being told early on an acting career was a possibility, to the connections, to the curiosity of casting directors to see what the next generation can do… Not to mention the bone structure he inherited from both parents!

But if he’s putting in the work, it’s reasonable to want his own claim to fame, right? Has he done enough to earn that, yet? Do YOU only think of him as Arnie’s kid? Or has he made his own mark by now?
