Avril Lavigne and Tyga have officially gone public with their new romance by locking lips in Paris, but the new couple is causing one person a ton of agony.
As Perezcious readers know, Avril was last linked to Mod Sun, but last month, she shockingly called off their engagement. While some sources claimed they had been on the rocks for a while, Mod’s team claimed it was “news to him” anything was up. But something was definitely up…
The God Save The Teen vocalist eventually made an Instagram post seemingly addressing the drama, and it sure sounded like he’d been blindsided. Meanwhile, his former fiancée didn’t hesitate to get a jump-start on her new love life.

First, Avril was spotted with Tyga in Los Angeles days before the breakup news was announced. A source swore there were just friends, but it was hard to deny their potential chemistry. And after the breakup news, they were spotted AGAIN, several more times in fact, during Paris Fashion Week. It all came to a head on Monday when they couldn’t help but share a passionate kiss in the City of Love, confirming they are on! (There was also some handholding, but who’s counting when lips are involved?) The whole thing has been a whirlwind — and according to a confidant close to the new couple, even Avril and Tyga didn’t even see this coming! An Us Weekly source dished on Wednesday:
“Avril and Tyga never imagined a romance would happen and this was totally unexpected. They have no idea where things are going but they’re enjoying spending time together. They have great chemistry.”
This new source corroborates the “just friends” comments, too. The insider said the pair have been pals for years and were “strictly platonic up until recently.” Recently as in before or after she’d split from Mod, though?! That’s the question now! As for why things have progressed so quickly romantically, the source added:
“Since they had already built a foundation of friendship, it was an organic transition to something more.”
This is starting to sound a lot like “we never meant for this to happen, it just happened.” The ol’ cheaters’ refrain.

While things are all honeymoon days for the Here’s To Never Growing Up artist, her ex is having a much more difficult time getting over the split!
Sources close to the Karma musician told TMZ that he’s been devastated ever since the breakup, and it doesn’t help that he has to see his former bride-to-be move on so quickly. Not to mention, Tyga and Avril are pouring on the PDA in the same spot where he got down on one knee last year! This not only makes him pissed AF, but he thinks it’s a major slap to the face — and something Avril is doing on purpose! Damn.
As for why things ended, the insiders told the outlet that Mod feels he did nothing wrong. So, what DID happen then?? The stories aren’t lining up right now. According to sources close to Avril who previously spoke to the outlet, they were “off and on” for months because things just weren’t working between the pair, but Mod’s camp claims they were living together and hadn’t had any interruptions in their relationship. That is until he went off to tour and seemingly learned about the split at the same time as the rest of us… after that Tyga sushi date… Yet, given all this context, why would he think Avril is out for revenge if he did nothing wrong?? Hmm…
No matter how upset Mod may be, we don’t think Tyga and Avril will be hiding their romance now that they’ve officially made things public. But is it shady to be flaunting their romance in the same city the former couple got engaged in? Or is the locale just a coincidence?? SOUND OFF (below)!
