Drama! Drama! Drama!
In case you aren’t familiar, Billy Eichner hosts a HIGHlarious show called Billy On The Street where he goes up to random New Yorkers and asks them questions about pop culture! If y’all aren’t watching this gem, DO IT NOW!
Unfortunately, on Friday, the 37-year-old saw a Capital One commercial on Twitter that seemed a little too familiar!

The ad stars Ross Mathews who asks people on the street about credit cards. Déjà vu, much?!
When Eichner saw the bit, he went on Twitter and put the Hello Ross star on blast!
Yet another Billy on the Street ripoff. I usually ignore but this one is SHAMELESS and PATHETIC. (And not funny). https://t.co/y2BtoQa6in

Hey @CapitalOne & @helloross – don’t steal from my fucking show. This is stolen intellectual property. FUCK YOU. #GoodbyeRoss

The former Jay Leno intern defended his work, claiming he’s been doing street interviews since 2001 and has never seen Billy’s schtick!
@billyeichner Are you serious? I’ve been doing man on the street interviews since 2001. I’ve never even seen your stuff. Bless your heart.

Billy clarifies his statement and placed the blame more on Capital One.
.@helloross Perhaps u didn’t but ur new friends @CapitalOne certainly did as they reached out to my agents about this campaign. HAPPY PRIDE.

Fortunately for us, the two went on to exchange SEVERAL passive aggressive insults!
.@billyeichner accuses me of stealing man on the street segments from him, but I started doing it on TV 15 years ago. Do the math. 😘

Life is short and I will not be getting into a Twitter feud with ROSS THE INTERN of all people. Here’s a fun video: https://t.co/QU7bEKSjhs

Just googled @billyeichner to watch some of his stuff for the first time. He’s funny! Wish he was nice, too.
— Ross Mathews (@helloross) June 17, 2016
No feud. Just responding to you. I came before you. I agree you’re funnier, but you’re also a dick. ├ó┬¥┬ñ├»┬╕┬Å, Mr. Mathews https://t.co/5UGykcsEqt
— Ross Mathews (@helloross) June 17, 2016
@helloross I’m not a dick. I have self-respect & I’m defending my work. The commercial is derivative and ur employers surely knew. G’night.

.@billyeichner Glad your hissy fit is over. We should be building each other up, not tearing one another down. All good. ❤️🌈
— Ross Mathews (@helloross) June 18, 2016
@helloross It’s not a “hissy fit.” I’m defending my work. I’m not going to “bring people up” who steal my work or anyone’s else’s. Biyeeeee

You can’t make this stuff up, people!
