Billy Ray Cyrus’ ex has had a rough few days!
Firerose took to Instagram on Thursday to reveal she was hospitalized for five days after receiving a “life-threatening diagnosis.” Whoa! Thankfully, the 35-year-old singer got treatment just in time and says she is “OK” now.

Alongside pictures of herself, including one of herself in a hospital bed, Firerose wrote in the caption:
“Home from 5 days in hospital after being rushed to emergency & finding out I had a life-threatening diagnosis. I’m so profoundly grateful to be alive it’s hard to even explain. I’ll share more details when I’m ready but the fantastic news is God got me to the ER just in time & I’m going to be absolutely OK.”
Phew! The Aussie musician went on to thank the medical team for taking care of her during this scary situation, saying:
“Beyond thankful for all the amazing doctors & nurses who took such great care of me & my beautiful soul family for every prayer, visit, text & call. The Lord reminded me I have much purpose still on earth, making music to help others & glorify Him. Now my testimony’s even stronger, with this radical grace & my life being saved once again. What a wonderful blessing each day forward is from here.”

What happened to Firerose is unknown at this time. However, her hospitalization came after she underwent a double mastectomy earlier this month — the same procedure she claimed she postponed because of her divorce drama with Billy Ray.
As you may recall, Firerose was diagnosed with the BRCA1 gene that makes her more likely to develop breast and other types of cancer and decided to get a double mastectomy to reduce her risk. However, she said at the time in legal filings, her operation got delayed when Miley Cyrus‘ dad filed for to end their marriage just one day before she was supposed to go under the knife in May. But she finally got the surgery done. She posted on September 1:
“With God on our side we’re stronger than we can even imagine. Thank you so very much for all the prayers. I deeply appreciate the outpouring of love & support #previvor #brca #brcaawareness”
