Guess Ryan Reynolds really did have a big influence on It Ends With Us!
As Blake Lively’s battle against her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni continues to heat up, an eagle-eyed fan just noticed a huge similarity between the Colleen Hoover film and Blake and Ryan’s superhero movie Green Lantern!
As Perezcious readers know, as part of Justin’s defense against sexual harassment allegations, he released unedited footage from on-set of a dancing bar scene in IEWU. During the 10-minute video, the co-stars disagreed on how to film the scene, with the director going in for continuous PDA while Blake insisted they should just talk, which she thought would be “more romantic.” They just weren’t on the same page at all.

But it turns out she may have been taking some inspiration from the DC Comics film — you know, the movie where she met her now-husband! A fan was rewatching the movie when they realized that there’s a dancing scene between Blake and Ryan’s character’s that’s “almost identical” to IEWU!
Taking to X (Twitter) with a recording of the scene, the fan pointed out on Sunday:
“I noticed that about 30 mins into [Green Lantern], there’s a scene where Lively and Reynolds characters dance in a bar in an almost identical way to the slow dance scene from IEWU. The only difference is the characters were talking. Could it be possible that Lively was trying to recreate the scene to be similar to the scene she did with her husband when she fell in love with him? Did she rewrite the scene to mirror the details of the dance? Is this what she means when she says her husband is ‘all over this movie’?”
Check out the clip for yourself:
I'm recovering from surgery and decided to watch the Green Lantern. I've never seen it before and wanted to see if it really is as bad as every says it it – it is!

And you can compare it to the BTS footage:
Whoa!
Sure, it’s not that original to have a slow dance scene between romantic partners in a movie so these similarities could just be one big coincidence. But it’s inneresting that Blake was advocating so hard for more talking — which would make the scene more similar to that of Green Lantern. Was this on purpose?
Reflecting on this, other fans chimed in:
“Wow, that would definitely explain why she thought talking during the dance sequence would be ‘more romantic.’ She may have even subconsciously remembered the moment she fell in love with her husband and that’s why she was so insistent on the talking.”
“Looks the same.”
“Good detective work.”
“Hmmmm interesting, I guess she wasn’t uncomfortable here.”
Not everyone thought this mattered, though, as one person defended the Gossip Girl star:
“who gives a f**k. she was sexually harassed on that f**kass film IEWU. And she wasn’t the only one. Hope that helps.”
While this doesn’t address the sexual harassment and retaliation claims, it could support Justin’s claims that Blake took over control of his film. She’s already owned up to having Ryan’s help rewriting a famous rooftop scene, and now this? He really was “all over” the movie!
Thoughts? Do U think this was just a coincidence or was Blake trying to reference this scene?
