Blake Lively's Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants Co-Stars Speak Out After Justin Baldoni Lawsuit

Colleen Hoover isn’t the only person publicly supporting Blake Lively‘s decision to file a complaint against her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment and trying to ruin her reputation.

In a joint statement shared to Instagram on Sunday, Blake’s co-stars from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants — that’s America Ferrera, Alexis Bledel, and Amber Tamblyn — spoke out in favor of her legal situation. They wrote:

“As Blake’s friends and sisters for over twenty years, we stand with her in solidarity as she fights back against the reported campaign waged to destroy her reputation. Throughout the filming of It Ends with Us, we saw her summon the courage to ask for a safe workplace for herself and colleagues on set, and we are appalled to read the evidence of a premeditated and vindictive effort that ensued to discredit her voice.”

They continued:

“Most upsetting is the unabashed exploitation of domestic violence survivors’ stories to silence a woman who asked for safety. The hypocrisy is astounding.”

The actresses also pointed out how disheartening it was to see something like this happen to such a well-known and respected performer, adding:

“We are struck by the reality that even if a woman is as strong, celebrated, and resourced as our friend Blake, she can face forceful retaliation for daring to ask for a safe working environment.”

And if it can allegedly happen to the Gossip Girl star, just think about how bad things must be for up-and-coming stars. The women also urged followers to read up on all the allegations against the Jane the Virgin alum, writing:

“We are inspired by our sister’s courage to stand up for herself and others. For anyone seeking more information or engaging in this important conversation online, please read the full legal complaint in the investigative reporting by Megan Twohey, Mike McIntire, and Julie Tate for the New York Times.”

In her own IG Story, Amber added some more of her thoughts, expressing:

“I was a confidant for my sister Blake while she went through some of this experience. I remember how incredibly painful it was for her. I’m glad all of this has come to light with solid reporting and receipts. I ask you to please read the full article and specifically, the legal complaint at the link: [to the NYT report].”

As mentioned, Blake has alleged Justin fostered an unhealthy work environment and then engaged in a campaign to “destroy” her reputation, causing her to suffer with “grief, fear, trauma and extreme anxiety.” Justin, through his attorney, has denied the allegations — but the lawsuit includes tons of texts between him and his team about the PR smear campaign. It’s pretty damning.
