David LaChapelle, Longtime Britney Spears Collaborator, Speaks Out About Things Being 'Off' Amid The Pop Star's Wellness Struggles

Famed photographer and music video director David LaChapelle is now yet another person determined to sound the alarm: something does not seem right with Britney Spears.
Earlier this month, footage from a scrapped music video that Spears had worked on alongside LaChapelle — but had never released — was suddenly leaked publicly just as rumors about the pop star’s mental health began to ramp up into overdrive.

Now, LaChapelle is speaking out about how he doesn’t believe that’s a coincidence… and there’s more to the story than what the public knows.
In a comment made on the Instagram post of a Spears fan account, LaChapelle wrote the following explaining the footage and criticizing whoever leaked it:

“This is some of my footage, this is not my edit. I find it very suspect that the video was ‘leaked’ while Britney was ‘away.’ The video/song wasn’t released because Britney didn’t like it. Her voice as an artist, should be respected. The only direction Britney ever gave me for this video is for me to film her in the cage. At the time I didn’t understand why would you want to be filmed in a cage? At first I envisioned to film her as a tigress, but she wanted to be filmed more timid, like a kitten. For everyone on my team, at least, we could tell something was off.”

Whoa… that turned very dark, very quickly.
And LaChapelle didn’t stop there either, noting how in a separate collaboration for the music video Every Time, Brit was the one behind the death concept (below):

“The only direction Britney gave me for the video was that she wanted to die, that she wanted to die in the video.”

Talk about a red flag!!

LaChapelle continued his comment from there, drawing a major conclusion for all to see in his missive on the fan page (below):

“I have known Britney since she was 17. I shot her first cover, Rolling stone, it was shot in Louisiana at her family home, filled with her pageant trophies. I could tell even back then something wasn’t right.”

Scary to think about…
Obviously there’s a lot going on here — and LaChapelle is but one of many people calling out and hoping that Britney’s best interests will be served by those closest to her. We can’t even imagine how unnerving this must be for those around her to watch unfold…
