The Britney Spears saga is far from over — and increasingly, the drama doesn’t all involve the singer herself, but more so the interested and controversial parties around her!
This time, it’s Britney’s Gram that has reportedly come under fire. The popular new podcast that was among the first to infamously drop the bomb on Britney’s allegedly involuntary mental health hold could now be facing some very serious consequences if a new, unsourced report is actually true.

A new Medium post (we know, we know…) published late on Sunday alleges that Britney’s Gram and the two women who co-host the show — Tess Barker and Babs Gray — have been reported to the FBI, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and the State Bar of California. It’s unclear where the author has sourced that claim, or what specifically may have pushed the podcast over the legal, ethical, or moral line here. These allegations themselves are dubious at best, but it actually marks what could be a major turning point in the #FreeBritney movement.
As you’ll remember, Britney’s Gram blew open the lid on Spears’ reported mental health predicament when they produced a voicemail from a supposed paralegal who claimed to have inside knowledge about the pop star’s conservatorship. While that story exploded all over social media, and Spears fans went so far as to stage a physical, real-life #FreeBritney protest march in West Hollywood on Monday, some fans have stepped back and realized the podcast may be doing irreparable damage to the singer due to HIPAA violations and other legal issues associated with allegedly outing her mental health status for the whole world to hear.
For their part, the Britney’s Gram hosts have tried to mitigate some of that concern, including in a Twitter thread earlier this week (below):
???? As we all know, the facts presented in this case point to a truth that needs to be brought to light. To that end…

The vast majority of people we’ve seen spreading awareness about this issue have been incredibly compassionate, articulate, and considerate, and we thank you from the bottom of our broken hearts for supporting us and each other. ????

Ultimately, there’s a ton of social media chatter about this from all angles — and very little (if any) verifiable truth upon which one can stand on the outside looking in. That the Britney’s Gram podcast has recently struck such a nerve with fans may suggest their concerns are at least worth exploring more. But that the podcast’s bombshells have more or less gone uncorroborated by mainstream media outlets, as some have noted, is certainly a red flag.
Ultimately, everybody wants the same thing: the best for Britney, and her family and friends. Fans, family, and other stakeholders certainly differ on how to achieve that — and the waters are now so muddy that it can be tough to see everyone’s true intentions here — but Britney’s health comes first and foremost, whether that’s in a facility or not.

As for the rest of this stuff, well, we will just have to see how it plays out.
Sigh…
