Truly incredible.
Charla Nash, the poor lady who was attacked by a chimpanzee in 2009, made history today when she became the first person to undergo a complete face transplant and double hand transplant.
Sadly, her hands did not take, but Charla’s brother, Stephen, said that Nash looks “fantastic, in terms of the face.”
The donor’s identity has been kept secret, but was a “fairly consistent match” for Nash.
Charla’s strength and perseverance is such and inspiration to all of us.
