UPDATE, September 10, 12:02 p.m. ET — Sunny has been FOUND!
Chris and Elsa’s beloved dog, missing for several days in the Byron Bay area of Australia, has been located! Even better, the adorable goldendoodle is apparently safe and sound!
A friend of the famous couple named Leah Grist posted the good news Tuesday morning to the Byron Bay Community Board on Facebook, offering little by way of details but clearly very excited to have the dog back home!
“SUNNY has been FOUND this morning,” Grist updated on the original post.
So great!!!
__________
Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky‘s dog Sunny has gone missing from their Australia home!
The couple’s family, which also includes seven-year-old daughter India Rose Hemsworth, and five-year-old twin sons Sasha and Tristan Hemsworth, welcomed their four-legged companion in November 2014.

A reported friend Tracey Sparkles posted to a Byron Bay Community Board Facebook group, writing (below):
“Update: Sunny is still missing, now approaching her third night lost.. please keep a look out for her.
We have lost our dog around Talofa area.. She ran off after getting a zap from electric fencing. She is a large cream Groodle, very friendly. Her hair is quite a bit longer than in the photo.
Please call if you see her??”
Along with her message, she attached a sweet photo of the pup:

The Thor portrayer’s personal trainer Luke Zocchi shared a missing flyer of the groodle to Instagram, writing (below) along with the poster:
“Asking for anyone’s help if you can help us find Sundog?”

Hemsworth and Pataky have yet to share anything on social media about Sunny going missing yet, but they have shared a number of posts about their four-legged family member in the past:
The Marvel heartthrob tends to keep things on the DL when it comes to his family, but he did previously admit to GQ Australia that the decision to prioritize spending time with his wife and children and being a proper dad has come at a price:
“There’s times when I’ve thought, ‘Wow, because having kids is more important to me, some of my roles have suffered.’ There’s definitely a couple of films I could’ve put way more energy into but I was like, ‘No, I’d rather be with my kids.'”
He continued, making it clear this was the right call to make for him and his family:
“I don’t regret that but I’m aware. You can’t completely dismiss what that pursuit does for you either. I often find myself saying it’s all for my family but in all this I definitely have personal things I need to achieve, too. The difference is you have to open yourself up and go, ‘Well, you had kids so you forfeited a bit of that.’ It can’t be a truly individual, selfish endeavor but we still need to take care of our own. Now my identity is another team, another community — the community being the family. You have to adapt and be malleable.”
That family includes Sunny, and we’re hoping she returns home safely soon!
