Chrissy Teigen Vents About COVID-19 Anxiety & Reveals Insomnia Struggles Over A Bowl Of Ramen At 5AM

Chrissy Teigen says anxiety over COVID-19 has led to insomnia.

Poor Chrissy Teigen!

The model is among those of us seriously struggling with a ton of unpleasant emotional changes brought on by the coronavirus pandemic. On Friday, she hopped on her Insta Story in the wee hours of the morning to vent about how anxiety over COVID-19 has led to a frustrating bout of insomnia.

Going makeup-free while slurping on a nice bowl of ramen noodles and with a murder podcast heard playing in the background, Chrissy filled her followers in on what’s been going on at home:

“I have not slept yet, it’s 5:21 in the morning and I am eating ramen alone in the kitchen downstairs. There are truly no rules. No one is awake.”

Oh no, that sounds awful! You’d think with all of this extended time at home she’d be able to catch up on some zzz’s but that couldn’t be further from the truth for the Cravings author.

Around the same time, Teigen also took to Twitter and explained her tried and true method of listening to true-crime podcasts to fall asleep has recently failed her:

“None of my favorite murder podcasts are updating and I can’t sleep without their terror.”

John Legend‘s wife added that some of her favorites include Casefile, Dateline, Sword and Scale, To Live and Die in LA, Dr Death, and The Thing About Pam, and why these selections work better than others:

“I don’t really like murder podcast commentary shows 🙁 I like just hearing the story end the calls. You can tell me your favorite but I promise I’ve tried it and I just don’t like the silly giggling.”

While we’re grateful for the podcast recs, we seriously hope someone will forward the momma of two some helpful tips for getting rest because it sounds like she certainly needs them! Based on what’s been reported about containing the spread of the coronavirus, it doesn’t seem like social distancing measures will let up soon.

This isn’t the first time the 34-year-old’s mentioned feeling overwhelmed by the global pandemic and hopefully, she can find some relief at home. Earlier this week, Chrissy told Ellen DeGeneres of the ongoing health crisis:

“This is honestly unreal. Obviously, this is the most unreal situation ever, but of course we’re holding up fine. It’s just been an unreal, surreal experience for our family and everybody out there. So, yeah, it’s pretty crazy.”

She expressed a deep desire to see the world become a better place once this is all over:

“If we can emerge from this just having this newfound love and respect for our fellow human, that would be such a beautiful, wonderful thing… Because I know when we’re able to be in contact with people again, I’m going to be so emotional and it’s going to be such a beautiful thing to be able to touch people’s hands when I laugh at what they’re saying, or touch their faces, or give my dad a hug. It’s gonna be a beautiful experience. So if we can at least come out of this and change a bit, I think that would be a really wonderful thing.”

Well said and hang in there, girl! We’re almost on the other side of this.
